OUR GOALS

At Central Valley Attainable Housing, Inc., our goal is to expand access to safe, high-quality, and attainable housing for working families across California’s Central Valley.

We focus on creating housing that aligns real development costs with what local households can afford, ensuring that nurses, teachers, farm workers, and essential employees can live and work in the communities they serve.

Through innovative development strategies and strong partnerships with cities, landowners, and mission-driven investors, we aim to:

Increase the supply of attainable housing

Reduce the cost burden on working households

Strengthen local communities

Our long-term vision is to deliver hundreds of attainable housing units each year, helping to close the growing housing gap and build more resilient, inclusive communities throughout the Central Valley.

OUR MODEL

CVAH uses an innovative, partnership-driven development model to make housing attainable. By reducing land costs, lowering financing and holding costs, using permit fee deferrals, and eliminating traditional developer profit, we’re able to deliver high-quality housing at rental and purchase prices that working families can afford.

PARTNERSHIPS THAT MAKE IT POSSIBLE

Financing, Partnerships, and Public Benefit

CVAH pursues favorable construction financing and materials pricing and works with lenders, mission-driven investors, and public agencies to structure below-market or otherwise advantageous terms that support long-term housing affordability.

The organization also collaborates with local governments to obtain permit fee deferrals and similar incentives. These efforts lower initial development costs while directly supporting municipal goals to increase affordable housing, helping to lessen governmental burdens related to housing shortages.
